Payment in dollars.. Housing reveals the proceeds of land allocation in new cities

The Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities revealed the outcome of land allocation in the new cities, and the volume of applications it received from companies and investors to obtain land.

Walid Abbas, Assistant Minister of Housing, Supervisor of the Authority’s Planning Sector, said that the Ministry, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority, received requests to reserve and obtain 974 plots of land for various activities with a dollar payment system and plots of land with a total area of ​​5,470 acres.

 He added, since the beginning of this year, the ministry has received 927 applications from companies and real estate developers to obtain investment lands according to the mechanism of allocating the request with various activities in the new cities.  

It includes various cities, the most prominent of which are “New Cairo – Sheikh Zayed – 6th of October – October Gardens – Obour – New Obour – Tenth of Ramadan – Badr – Al Shorouk – Sadat – Assiut – Beni Suef – Sohag – Burj Al Arab – Damietta – New Qena.”

Development projects

On the other hand, Dr. Assem Al-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, followed the executive position of the various residential and development projects being implemented in New Rashid City, which is one of the fourth generation cities being established, and enjoys its distinguished location from the beginning of the mouth of the Rashid Branch, and extends westward to the sites of natural gas projects north of Idku City. It also has a beach front of approximately 10 km on the Mediterranean coast.

New Rashid City

 The Minister of Housing explained that the new Rashid City is scheduled to accommodate all types of housing (tourist - average - social), in addition to various service and development projects. It is also considered a tourist outlet for the residents of the Beheira and Kafr El-Sheikh governorates, and will provide job opportunities and various investment opportunities for the residents of the Beheira Governorate. To increase the governorate’s resources and contribute to the implementation of various projects to serve its residents.

The minister pointed out that the total investments in the urgent phase, in New Rashid City, so far amount to 778 million pounds, and the implementation of the Bashaer Al-Khair 4 initiative is being completed through the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing, with a total of (66 buildings), in addition to the implementation of park works. The roads are in the urgent phase, and the implementation of this phase is scheduled to be completed within a year from now. A number of residential buildings are also being implemented under the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians,” with areas ranging from (100 - 110 - 120) square meters, and the implementation rate has reached 53%.

Investment plan

The Minister of Housing added that the investment plan for the current fiscal year in New Rashid City is 406.219 million pounds, and road and utility works are currently being completed in the urgent phase, and the implementation of an outlet and a lifting station with a capacity of 5 thousand m3/day + a 250 mm diameter transmission line with a length of 6.5 km has begun + Compact station, with a capacity of 2000 m3/day, to supply water to the urgent phase. Electricity transformer stations are scheduled to be established within the city’s strategic plan to provide the necessary loads for expansions and future projects.
