EGP 14 billion.. Development investments in the Suez Canal in 2022-2023
EGP 14 billion in investments in 2022-2023 to implement 178 development projects in Suez.
The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, issued report reviewed the citizen investment plan, for the Suez Governorate for the year 2022-2023.
This is within the framework of continuing to announce the citizen's plan in all governorates of the Republic for the fourth year in a row.
Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, confirmed that the launch of the “Citizen Plan” reflects the state’s keenness to involve citizens in the efforts made to develop the planning and follow-up systems.
Egypt Vision 2030
It comes with a purpose achieving sustainable and comprehensive development, in a way that contributes to addressing the development gaps between the different governorates, and the localization of the sustainable development goals, and achieving the 17th goal of the global sustainable development goals, “partnerships to achieve the goals.”
Hala Al-Saeed add, The citizen is the real axis of development, hence the need to empower him and provide him with data on the development programs and projects that the state is implementing.
She explained, All development plans adopted by the state aim to improve the quality of life of citizens, and this will not be achieved without active community participation, in line with "Egypt Vision 2030".
“Sharek 2030”
She Pointing out that, the Ministry of Planning has taken, during the past period, many steps aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability and emphasizing the importance of citizen participation in planning and follow-up, including issuing reports on “citizen follow-up in the governorates” and launching the “Sharek 2030” mobile application.
Citizen investment plan in Suez Governorate including:
1. The number of development projects in the governorate reaches 178 projects.
2. The value of public investments directed to the Suez Governorate in the 2023/22 plan amounts to 14 billion EGP.
3. Directing investments worth 8.5 billion pounds to the petroleum sector, at a rate of 60.7%, and 2.1 billion pounds pertaining to the transportation sector.
4. The investments of the higher education and scientific research sector amount to 872 million pounds.
5. The most important targeted projects in the higher education and scientific research sector are the establishment of Galala University, the establishment of the University Hospital at Suez University, the establishment of the University City building at Suez University, in addition to the establishment of a central laboratories complex for the Faculty of Science at the university.
6. The investments of the Suez Canal include 522 million pounds, or 3.7%, while the health sector is concerned with 470 million pounds, or 3.4%, and investments amounting to 1.5 billion pounds, or 10.7%, pertain to other sectors.
