$87 million .. Revenue from Saudi clubs from commercial sponsorships
The Saudi Crown Prince had launched the investment and privatization project for sports clubs, after completing the executive procedures for the first phase, in order to achieve the goals of Vision 2030 in the sports sector.
The Saudi Ministry of Sports issued a report, in which it revealed the results of the investment and privatization project for sports clubs.
The report monitored some of the numbers achieved through the strategy to support sports clubs since its launch in 2019.
The club’s revenues from sponsors increased to 328 million riyals (about 87 million dollars) in the 2022-2023 season, after revenues amounted to 88 million riyals in the 2019-2020 season, which means a 300 percent growth in two years.
Investing in sports clubs
89 percent of professional league clubs were able to obtain a certificate of financial competence, after the committee-imposed rules and regulations to ensure the sustainability and quality of financial work, which was directly reflected in the decrease in the financial obligations of sports clubs.
The number of official employees in Saudi clubs has grown after the implementation of the governance system, as it reached more than three thousand male and female employees during the last season in 61 clubs.
While the number of athletes registered in clubs has increased to more than 80,000 athletes, after the number did not exceed 40,000 athletes two seasons ago.

• The first is the approval of major companies and development agencies investing in sports clubs, in return for transferring ownership of the clubs to them.
• The second is to offer a number of sports clubs for privatization, starting from the last quarter of 2023.
The transfer and allocation of clubs generally aims to achieve qualitative leaps in various sports in Saudi Arabia by 2030, to create a distinguished generation in sports at the regional and global levels, in addition to developing the football game and its competitions in particular, to bring the Saudi League to the list of the ten best leagues in the world, and to increase the revenues of the Saudi League League. For professionals, from 450 million riyals to more than 1.8 billion riyals annually, in addition to raising the market value of the Saudi Professional League from three billion to more than eight billion riyals.

It is noteworthy that the ownership of Al-Diriyah Club was transferred to the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, and the ownership of Al-Qadisiyah Club was also transferred to Aramco, and the ownership of Al-Ula Club was transferred to the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate, and the ownership of the Falcons Club was transferred to the NEOM Company, while the ownership of the clubs: Al-Hilal, Al-Nasr, and Al-Ittihad was transferred. and Al-Ahly to the Public Investment Fund.
