A wind farm is a group of wind turbines located in the same location used to produce electrical energy.
Egypt has built one of the largest wind farms in the world according to one of the agreements concluded by Egypt, represented by the "Infinity" Company, with the Emirati company, "Masdar", during the activities of the COP27 climate summit.
With regard to the wind farm, the Information and Decision Support Center of the Council of Ministers has published the most important information in this regard:
1. Work on the project is scheduled to start in 2024.
2. It is supposed to be completed in 2030.
3. The project will cost $11 billion.
4. The project has a capacity of 10 gigawatts, equivalent to one-fifth of the UK's current supply of all forms of renewable energy.
5. The project increases Egypt's chances of exporting more electricity to Europe, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Libya.
6. The project increases the chances of exporting electricity to Europe.
Major development projects
On a related level, Matrouh governorate witnessed major development projects during the last three years, especially in the field of agriculture, where practical measures are being implemented to solve the problem of agricultural drainage in Siwa to collect water from drains.
1.3 billion in two phases

The Agricultural Pest Control Laboratory in Siwa (Trichograma Factory) was also supported with an amount of 250 thousand pounds, with an emphasis on the continuity of its operation. The supply of wheat for the Al-Shamama silo in Al-Hamam has reached more than 30 thousand tons to date, and more than what is targeted compared to the previous year, which reached 12.5 thousand. With regard to the agricultural project for young people, it came with an area of 3 acres and a well to collect rainwater for 160 young people, funded by the governorate, and handed over 70 agricultural acres to Siwa youth in the Abu Shrouf area, west of Siwa.
